Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, primarily affecting the lungs. It remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, with millions of cases annually. Innovations in diagnosis, treatment and prevention are crucial to controlling and eventually eliminating TB.
The Atlas of TB Innovations is a curated catalogue that showcases diverse innovations across the TB care continuum. It enables visibility for products, tools, and approaches at various stages in their development. It is envisioned to be a single stop reference for innovations in TB prevention, detection, treatment, and health system strengthening.
The platform serves four key stakeholder groups. These include: • Innovators—seeking visibility, technical feedback, and guidance on taking their innovation to scale • Program managers and implementers—exploring new tools for TB care that will give them a better edge in eliminating TB • Policymakers and regulators—interested in establishing new standards of care with improved efficiency • Funders and donors- that seek to develop and promote promising innovations that can accelerate progress towards TB elimination
First and foremost, the Atlas provides better visibility of your innovation with the most updated information. You also get to see other innovations in the same class as yours and get to compare your innovation against theirs while understanding the journey they have undertaken. Apart from the above, we also work to provide technical support in the following areas: • Assistance with organizing and presenting your innovation effectively on the platform • Recommendations from domain experts for product improvement • Guidance on critical pathways to regulatory approval (national and international) and utilisation at scale • Support in identifying appropriate contexts or partners to test and generate evidence
No, we do not directly offer any financial support. However, we may facilitate funders' access to details of your innovation, and they may advertise suitable funding opportunities through the Atlas.
While the platform may help inform decision-makers, inclusion on the Atlas does not imply endorsement or commitment to scale-up within national programs. However, you may proactively leverage any opportunities and information shared through the network and other events held in relation to the atlas.
The Atlas does not directly support in regulatory approval processes. However, you may find technical guidance on regulatory processes.
We do not directly test products. However, you may take leverage of opportunities and the network built through the Atlas and related events.
No. The platform does not validate claims or other performance matrixes provided by the innovator. Being listed on the platform is NOT an endorsement or certification by any of the stakeholders related to the Atlas. Inclusion on the Atlas only reflects that the innovation has relevance in the TB space.
Yes. The platform provides a neutral and structured overview of TB innovations at various stages of development. It serves as a discovery tool for funders, national TB programs, and partners looking to identify potential innovations that may fill a programmatic need and may be piloted or scaled up.
Partners can: • Access detailed innovation profiles to inform procurement or pilot discussions. • Engage with innovators for contextual adaptation and evidence generation.
